SANDRA SCOTT |
Clinic Director |

Hi, I’m Sandra Scott. I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing team at Thrive Counselling in Winnipeg. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba and a clinical Master degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) from the University of Winnipeg. I am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
I work with individuals, couples and families. My focus is from a client-centered, non-judgmental systemic perspective, using an experiential approach with a foundation of self-compassion and mindfulness. I also encourage digging deep to find your authentic self. My approach is a blend of therapy models including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment, Solution Focused, IFS as well as EMDR Therapy. Much of my experience has been collaborating with clients to overcome anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, shame, addiction-related challenges, working with the inner critic, relationship difficulties, family of origin issues as well as grief and loss. Change is difficult, and sometimes change is thrust upon us, and we need to figure out how to cope and where to turn. I have been there too, it’s hard sometimes just to eat or sleep. I also know that you are the expert in your life, I will guide you through the storm and help you sort out how you can thrive again.
In my free time, I am balancing my household with my spouse and two very busy children and two very spoiled cats. Dance is one of my passions, and I believe that is vital in our lives, so I look forward to my dance classes. I also enjoy cooking, baking, gardening and playing board games.
Your experience at Thrive is very important to me. My goal is for all of our clients to find healing and personal growth, and to create strong relationships with the important people in their lives. If you're here, you're probably going through a tough time. We are here to support you. If you choose to come to Thrive to heal, please know that you can contact me anytime with questions or feedback via email at sandra@thrivewinnipeg.com.
