Justine Fredette |
Associate Therapist |

Hi there,
I’m Justine and I’m an Associate Therapist at Thrive Counselling. I have a Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Wisconsin-Superior as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. I am currently registered with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association.
While using a person-centered approach, my focus is on the strengths of each individual or couple. Using a variety of modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based approaches, I work to create a safe and supported atmosphere that encourages healing and change. I understand coming to therapy can be an overwhelming and vulnerable experience so I try to create an atmosphere that supports you and your healing journey.
In my practice I work with adolescents and adults. During sessions you can expect a collaborative experience. We will work together to decide what treatment and approach works best for you and your goals.
As a former Division 1 athlete, I have a strong passion for athlete mental health and sports psychology. I have experience working with amateur, college, and professional athletes and use my prior experiences as a helper and an athlete to make therapy a safe and comfortable place for her clients.
Outside of therapy I enjoy exercising, cheering for the UConn Huskies, as well as the occasional Netflix binge watch.
