Grace Pagtakhan |
Associate Therapist |

Hello! My name is Grace Pagtakhan (she/her) and I am an Associate Therapist at Thrive Counselling. I am a cisgender queer woman who is living and working on Treaty 1 Territory. I hold a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manitoba.
I firmly believe that we are all experts on our own lives, and in my work as a therapist, I strive to help my clients empower themselves to create change in their lives and discover what wellness looks like for them. I believe that the therapeutic space can be used to explore many different facets of our lives, such as people’s strengths, growing edges, and their experiences with the various identities that they hold. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and as a therapist, I am here to help my clients process and work through whatever they decide to bring with them to their sessions during our time together. I have experience working with clients on a variety of concerns and struggles including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality and sexual health, relationships, and life transitions.
My approach to therapy is primarily person-centered and feminist-based. However, I often integrate other approaches and therapy models into my work as well, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, solution-focused brief therapy, family systems, expressive arts therapy, and play therapy. I currently work with children, teenagers, adults, families, and couples.
In my life outside of my role as a therapist, I enjoy reading, singing, and spending time with my loved ones.
