CELNA SOUSA |
Associate Therapist |

Hello, my name is Celna Sousa and I am an Associate Therapist at Thrive Counselling. I know there is no single, or right approach for every individual especially when things are constantly changing today. Mindfulness is the focus and approach of my practice. By focusing on the present moment we become the main driver over the struggle and stressors we experience in life. The benefit of mindfulness is limitless as it provides individuals the space to explore ideas, opportunities, and possibilities to emerging concerns. I support my clients who include adolescents, adults and families and help them find their own personal approach by focusing within themselves. My clients are able to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop personal tools to manage on their own in this process.
I’m a Registered & Licensed Social Worker with the Manitoba College of Social Workers and Canadian Association of Social Workers. I have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Manitoba and am trained in mindfulness and psychosomatic therapy (mind and body). My therapy style is a blending of mindfulness, psychosomatic, solution-focused, and narrative. I have experience working with diverse backgrounds experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, cultural identity issues, death and end of life cases.
Art has always been a part of my life & when traveling I enjoy exploring places with large murals by artists from around the world. I am also an avid reader and enjoy reading books from all genres, being outdoors (hiking/fishing), and spending time with my dogs and family.
